KWON students in grades 2-6 are working hard to learn the different features in a nonfiction text and the various reference books available to them for research. Nonfiction text features include a table of contents, real photographs, diagrams, labels, keywords, maps, headings, and captions. Reference books include dictionaries, thesauri, atlases, encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, digital information, and almanacs. After learning about these factual topics and sources, students Space Race using our live feed Socrative quiz system. Students passed with flying colors, literally!
KWON students in grades K-6 were awarded a Certificate of Completion from Hadi Partovi, the co-founder and C.E.O. of Code.org, the company that hosted the Hour of Code which the students participated in back in December. Scroll down to past blog posts for information about the various apps and websites we used to learn about coding/programming basics. We are so proud of our future computer scientists!
