KWON students in grades K-6 are conducting research to create their own ebooks and comics. Students in kindergarten and first grade will research different animals to create an ebook and second graders will research the water cycle to create an ebook as well. Third graders are researching sun, moon, and rocks or simple machines, fourth graders are focusing on plants, fifth graders are looking at different explorers, and sixth grade is researching a historical figure. Students are hard at work gathering the information they will need for their text, drawings, and voice overs so they can become published authors!
KWON students waltzed the week away to words from Dr. Seuss! From the morning Dr. Seuss quotes to the Dr. Seuss read alouds between middle school students and kindergarteners, from the crazy dress up days to the creation of Thinks in the library, this week was a blast! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
KWON students learned how to research various topics using Google Scholar, Instagrok, Sweet Search and Kids Click using QR codes that led them straight to the research sites. They had fun exploring nonfiction topics via videos, photos, and text! Next, they will be creating electronic books, comics and puppet shows using the information they gather! Look out for these coming attractions!
