On Monday, March 31, 2015, Kim Oshiro, author of The Saga of Simon the Skinny Pig: Simon Saves the Day, visited Ka Waihona o ka Na'auao's kindergarten and first grade students. Aunty Kim, as the students affectionately called her, read her book, taught and then sang the Simon Jingle, then shared her two pet skinny pigs, Maggie and Molly, with the students. KWON kindergarten and first grade students are back in the library and ready to learn more about coding! This week, in the library, students are brushing up on their coding skills by practicing on Kodables, Lighbot, and HopScotch. All three apps are free so download them on your own devices at home. Get ready to be inspired by your little coders!
On Wednesday, March 4, KWON students celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with Crazy Hair!! Students dressed their do's up with everything from twigs to twirllers and everyone had a blast! Friday, March 6, will wrap up Dr. Seuss Week with Character Day...dress up as any character from a Dr. Seuss book or as whatever you want to be when you grow up! See you then!
Today, Monday, March 2, students at KWON tipped their hats to the great Dr. Seuss on his birthday! The fun goes on all week so don't forget your crazy socks tomorrow, cooky hair on Wednesday, Twins Day on Thursday, and character dress up on Friday. Happy birthday Dr. Seuss!
