Ka Waihona o ka Na'auao students and staff welcomed the Hokule'a and Hikianalia crew to Nanakuli with music, dance, lei, and ho'okupu. Eighth graders were able to go aboard the canoes and learn about navigation from Nainoa Thompson, Uncle Maka, and Uncle Buff. KWON was even featured on the Hokule'a website! The Hokule'a and Hikianalia will be anchored in Nanakuli Bay through Saturday when it will sail to Poka'i Bay with our Principal, Mr. Alvin Parker, as one of the crew members.
