For the first time in 20 years, the Secretary of Education is visiting Hawai'i. During his visit, he is only seeing two schools. Of those two, he only requested to visit one, Ka Waihona o ka Naauao Public Charter School. KWON students represented our school and our people well by receiving the secretary with a flawless protocol and hula and then instructing him in the finer points of pa'i 'ai. Secretary Duncan then sat down with many leaders of the Hawaiian Education movement including Namaka Rawlins, Deejay Mailer, and our own Principal Parker. He heard the voices of the Hawaiians at the table, asked questions to follow up on the concerns of our people, and promised to do his "homework" and return to us with either ways to solve the wrongs or reasons for them. Eo Hawaii and maika'i nui e na haumana o Ka Waihona o ka Na'auao!
